Maybe it’s just me, but I’m guessing like everyone else said that it’s more then just forgetting the ice cream.. the sleeping on the couch part is a bit drastic though.

I would have laughed at her. If she insisted on being upset I'd just remove all attention. I'd still sleep in my bed.

Trying to think what I would do in that situation. It's an honest mistake but if she is going to explode over it she can get her own fucking ice cream if still cunty she can sleep in the spare room. If she didn't blow up and asked me to go back and get the ice-cream and I had time I would as it was my mistake and own it.

It's early unplugging for me so genuinely interested in the correct way of handling this

For a bit of background, I have been married for several years, we have six children, but I've only truly studied the Red Pill quite recently. A lot of the material I've found simply sounds like advice my father gave me when I was young either by example, or directly. I grew up in a very rural environment with two traditionally-minded parents who had a Captain-First Mate relationship. I'd say I've managed to implement much of MRP without necessarily calling it that or engaging with this community up until now.

I think it's very interesting that someone brought up the comic, "You Should've Asked." It manages to actually illustrate a decent point, even if it does so from a Feminist perspective. A big part of it is that even traditional women usually handle at least of the mental workload when it comes to what needs to be done. This workload is related to maintaining a house and rearing children. In today's society, there's even more workload when many women are expected to work a full time job to be, "equal" to men, or they just plain need to due to economic tensions.

This is why the homemaker/breadwinner divide is very helpful, it's an efficient distribution of two kinds of labor, one takes care of the internal world that demands emotion, nurturing, and intuition, the other takes care of the external world that demands logic, structuring, and maneuvering. Neither is inferior to the others as Feminists tend to say, they're both necessary in their own way. My wife is a stay-at-home mom for these reasons.

I digress, it sounds like the gentlemen in that post isn't being a very good, "Captain." Nobody is perfect, of course, but the Captain-First Mate dynamic requires a degree of consideration from the Captain and an equal amount of respect from the First Mate. The former must always keep in mind the external needs (i.e. masculine needs) of the, "ship" so the First Mate can tend to the internal needs (i.e. feminine needs.) Her emotions are understandable, she is a woman, and his lack of intuition is understandable, he is a man.

If it were me in this situation, I'd try the, "fix her feels" method I've seen mentioned here before, with the caveat that I'll be more attentive next time. Respond to all those emotions she's being tugged around by right now, she's unconsciously asking for reassurance that she has chosen a good husband, that she can trust him, and that he has the strength to provide, and so on and so forth.
