Two nights ago we had an argument that escalated to some verbal sparring. I exhibited amused mastery in the beginning and held my frame longer than usual but in short order I was angry and she knew it. After the 2nd "time out" I was done talking with her until she apologized- which never happens. I watched a sons of anarchy, handled my end of night routine and as I walked to bed she asked if I was ready to talk and I said no as I walked to bed. The next morning I left without the usual kiss/I love you which I questioned if it was reactionary. All throughout the day I was still angry- I posted this in /r/asktrp. I got home and she didn't show for several hours during which I'm considering texting to see if she is ok, I'm wondering if she left me to stay at her mom's house, I hold out. She eventually gets home & says hi as she walks by to which I reply hi. Still no talking until I get ready to go to bed to close a day of no more than one word to each other. I returned to meditating last night and I hear her enter our room a few times while I am sitting facing a wall. I get into bed turn off the light and she comes in to say that she was going to talk but I didn't call a "time in" so she was hesitant. She says she is sorry. She says that she saw herself speaking in a poor manner but waasn't able to stop her words come out as she watched herself. She said she was leaving spaces in the conversation for me to speak. I told her that I understand, I have no words to say, and told her to hug me. Shortly afterwards she comes around to the other side of the bed and kisses me (her initiating doesn't happen all that often). She hugs me again and asks if I forgive her. This is something I can't recall hearing much if at all. This may not sound like much but there are many points where I would have gone wrong in the past.

  1. I would have kissed her and said I loved her when I left in the morning even though I was pissed.

  2. I would have texted her throughout the day or called her when I got home to initiate a connection- reducing the chances that she would have thought about her bad behavior.

  3. When she apologized (if I hadn't already apologized first which I usually did) I would have apologized, too.

Sorry for the wall of txt, I wanted to give context. Here is the tl;dr:

tl;dr: argument with wife. 24 hours of mutual freeze out and she submitted.
