I often hear about breakups, especially in marriages and usually initiated by women, as evidence that the man was too blue-pill, too accommodating, or some variation. The argument is that the breakup is a function of the man's actions.

While it will always be the case that any breakup (or dramatic decrease in sex within a relationship, like the one I am experiencing now) will be a function of the man's actions and the woman's actions, I believe we are underestimating the role of a woman's drive to acquire genes for her children from a variety of men.

It's well documented that after a relationship's early phase (often inside 2 years) that female sex drive reduces while the man's remains unchanged. I remember hearing a quote from a woman that went something like this: "there is no sexual dysfunction, nor headache, nor menopausal sympton, nor level of fatigue that cannot be put aside in the presence of a new lover."

This means that while my wife lays down after a long day and say "I don't want to fuck cause I'm tired," what she is really telling me is that "I've acquired your genes for my progeny. While great, it's about that time for me to begin collecting some other dude's genes. He may have an immunity to ebola that might come in handy for my next batch of kids."

The mechanism that regulates her ability to acquire new genes, enroll the mate to help raise the kids...then move onto another guy is her sexual desire. A woman's sexual desire is what dictates her actions around a man.

No man on planet earth has more genes to offer his woman than those present in the first wad he blows in her. After a few years have passed, homo sapien females lose interest in their mates and their sexuality often goes dormant in his presence.

I believe this phenomenon explains a lot about female behavior in long term relationships (LTR).
