When TRP recognizes how different men and women are from each other, a common example is how men are naturally stronger than women. For that reason, sometimes we do have to pull our punches a little bit because we can physically hurt a woman with considerably less effort (or tools) than a woman can retaliate with. Was Ray Rice entitled to defend himself? Yes. Was his fiance entitled to physically attack him because she's a woman? No. Did Ray Rice need to lay out his girl? Absolutely not.

I think you're getting at what frustrates me about the discussion around this. Everyone on espn keeps using the phrase "hitting a woman" like this wouldn't have been an issue if he knocked out a smaller man.

Ray Lewis jumping on Ray Rice was the last straw for me. For a guy who is widely known for being involved in a murder investigation. He's so full of shit.

This was my initial reaction too. The thing is though, his excessive force is the reason why everyone is flipping out. A hard punch to the jaw was way overboard here, even if she was coming at him. It was in the heat of the moment, but even still, his life was obviously never on the line.

Funny how the "he's bigger and stronger" defense is used for man vs. woman but never across the board. As in the 6'2" football player vs. 5'6" water boy. Men either don't care or feel sorry for the water boy. Women get a kick out of it for primitive reasons that are probably discussed here on TRP regularly.

Note: I was never a water boy and I'm not 5'6." Just wanted to clear that up.

Ray rice is a chump. I have no problem Defending your self. He could have pushed her. Shake the shit out of her. Not get on the elevator. But he hits her like a man twice. Then uses a lite kick to try to move her body. I bet they both were drunk ass shit. He fucked up. People will get over it, its not the end of the world. He said he fucked up and was getting help. This video comes out and people lose their fucking mind. The ravens should not have cut him. He told them what he did. They knew he put his hands on her. And they stood by his side. What the fuck changed??? A video? So you needed to see a video to realize what he did was wrong?? Same to the crazy ass fans who were cheering for him during training camp. All off them have a different tune because of a video. Nothing should have changed just because the video came out. -rant over....
