Only positive things about Women! (Just for a Day)

I miss my mother in law. She passed away the 26th of June. She was amazing and I miss her everyday.

She was from Uruguay and half Italian, she had tan skin and green eyes. She was the best cook ever and taught me almost everything. She was deeply sick and couldn't go out of the house so her only happiness was seeing her son and me.

She was very happy that her boy found a good girl as he has a difficult personality but we got along well and she knew her and her husband wouldn't be aground for long (she was 73 he is 85 although my man is young, 36, I'm 28) so knowing that he wasn't alone was a big deal.

We got along amazing, she was funny and really enjoyed talking about small things, she remembered the price of all things and saved money. She was a very devout wife and mother and this is important because she gave me hope -you can be a good person and love others and be loved even though you were abused as a kid.

I always thought I was destined to become like my mother because she had been violent and abusive to me but my mother in law also had a very bad situation but she turned out an amazing human being.

What surprised me is that we had our up and downs but even then we still got along - I have constant anxiety that any little mistake I make will make people abandon me so seeing how I still loved her even though we had our dynamic fluctuations really gave me hope.

I miss her so fucking much it hurts. I am angry that she's only been a part of a minority of my life and that she will never see grandkids

Oh well gotta hurry up to give my grandma grand-grand kids :) she is another amazing woman...

At work, there are very few black women. We sometimes feel the very real effects of racism, sexism, etc in the workplace. I'm not complaining. That's just life.

The older black women are so welcoming. We're like a nice little group of sisters. They have given me the best quality advice on how to be professionally feminine, retain my sense of self and community, and have protected me and encouraged me in so many ways.

It really makes me value the concept of sisterhood and women circles and how essential it is to a woman's development -- in any social place.
