Keep up with your studies. Seriously.

Don't take dating too seriously and dont get into a relationship early on. Make female friends that you DONT want to plate, for social circle purposes. Become an important member, or leader, of at least one club/society.

If you find guys that are also into weightlifting, the same sport/martial art, take some time to get to know them and train with them

This one might be a bit controversial for trp, but BE KIND. I dont mean this in the 'nice guy' sense, but rather it is very important to be a positive influence and positive person around others. Dont be the guy that brings people down or ruins the energy in social gatherings. Compliment people, help people out, and be a positive source of energy. You never know who you might help in your first few months that could end up being a great part of your life.

Treat it as a 9-5 job. Spend the day at the library / gym and enjoy yourself in the evenings.

Nights out are usually mid week so if the big nights are Tuesday and Thursday, take those days off and consider Saturday and Sunday as weekdays.

When it comes to the actual work, work smart not hard. Try different ways of studying to find what works for you.

I found that I am useless in lectures, but great when getting hands on. So for me (I did computer science) I had to make everything as practical as possible. Learning about object oriented programming? Make a dummy gym app using object oriented principles.

When it comes to the more difficult stuff, remember not to run before you can walk. Always make sure you understand the basics before moving on. There's no shame in taking longer than your classmates to learn something, just make sure you learn it in the end.

Remember to have fun overall, my biggest regret from uni was not getting with more girls. That being said, limit the alcohol and drugs. No good comes from being the most fucked up person in the room.

I'm an English literature student (one of the tops) and I follow all the advices given here. Guess what? I'm literally the most popular guy in our college. Here's my secrets: 1) I'm always dressed as best as possible. I like standing out from the crowd. 2) I treat people with respect, and I get respect in return. This avoids unnecessary drama. 3) I befriend anything that moves. You never know when you'll need a favor.

4) I HELP PEOPLE OUT. I'm humble. Example: we're forced to learn French which I absolutely love. Yet there are people who hate it. I help them, tutor them, and they get good results. They owe me forever if I ever need something (I choose whom I help wisely).

5) There's a fine line between becoming a provider and a helper. Don't fall into the first category. Know when to withdraw.

6) This should be #1 but I take my degree seriously. Yes, I'm there to have fun too but my degree and my own benefits come first. Take care of yourself and then help people out.

7) University will be full of hard times. Full of little things that can make you overreact. You know what happens when we overreact? We lose frame. Do not lose frame. Do not lose frame.

You don’t have to drink to enjoy parties. Clinical research shows that it can take up to at least 3 days for memories to consolidate, which happens during our sleep. Alcohol is one of the most potent REM disrupters known to man. When you drink you interfere with your ability to consolidate information you’ve learned, even information you learned a few days ago.It’s laughable that college is the place many iniate themselves into copious amounts of alcohol consumption. You’re paying lots of cash for a degree, never forget that is the primary reason you are there.
