In desktop, Pale Moon: open source, lightweight, low RAM consumption, highly customizable, loads pages fast, bug-less. I love it. In Android I use Bromite, a free-software Chromium browser with a lot of mods that reinforce security and privacy, also includes an adblocker.

I was using Firefox but I'm thinking about switching to Opera or Brave. Mostly because the new update has (I kid you not) the URL address bar at the bottom rather than at the traditional top of the page. So confusing. Not to mention what else have they altered.

I found that the browser that cane closer to Opera was Vivaldi. It comes with an ad blocker and a tracker blocker, it has infinite level of customization and is updated constantly.

FF. Because I could install addblock+ on that. I a kid advertising as the plague. And I didn't try anything else after that.

Use to used Opera when it was new,fast and small. It just kept getting bigger and bigger with more and more features. Now, I use Firefox with Noscript+adblock.

I was thinking of using Brave, but after reading a security analysis of Brave, stuck with Firefox and added PiHole with a SecureDNS connection.

Sure, my ISP knows what IP addresses I'm connecting to, but for my very private stuff, I use Wireguard (much faster/easier/better than a VPN).

Brave. Its a chromium browser (built on the chrome platform) has a built in ad blocker, you can turn off the blocking stuff for individual pages and it remembers your options, tor browsing option and is basically chrome with all the google ad/spyware stuff stripped out and some good privacy/ad blocking stuff added.

I use Safari alongside a paid lifetime AdGuard license (it’s worth it, trust me) because this works consistently well across desktop and mobile. I haven’t seen a single advert on any of my devices in a very long time as a result and any tabs I open on one device can be seamlessly transitioned to on another. While I don’t use extensions personally (the Content Filtering API is separate), as of macOS 14, Safari will have support for Chrome extensions just like how Firefox and Opera do.

If you’re not an iOS/macOS user, I would recommend Firefox with AdGuard to achieve the same kind of result across mobile (Android) and desktop (Windows/Linux). It isn’t quite as slick but it’s definitely better than just using say Adblock Plus or uBlock Origin and Firefox is very consistent across Android and desktop OSes.
