I work with mostly women. should I go to a company social event?

I've been invited to a social event by my workplace, which is mostly women. I've been doing well following TRP advice on working with women, and I think it may be better for me not to go for this reason? I suppose there would be some opportunity to network, but mostly it is social. What do you think?
