Fixing your emotions and mood is difficult
I just find myself wasting my days away in bed texting people, scrolling facebook and using tinder.
Fixing this behaviour is much easier. Recognize that you are doing it. Then find another way to fill that time. Sounds like you've just found more time for the gym, a side project, going for a hike, heading to the pool hall, or to work on you car.
You fall into this trap because the actions you take while feeling down, make you feel more down. Feeling down is part of life, how you deal with it is what is important.

This boils down to abundance mentality.
Even when I started getting good at game and being able to get dates with girls, the first couple of dates would go great. However sooner or later I would start showing too much interest and begin thinking about her a lot and texting her a lot. It took a couple of girls to break my heart to realize you can't get invested in a girl you barely know.
At a certain point you will stop feeling the need to have a girl validate you.

I sleep with new girls pretty much every other day, I think it may even be the opposite of abundance. I think I've become similar to a slut, completely reliant on the opposite sex for fun.
Im unsure on needing them for validation as I'm well aware I pretty great haha.

I highly doubt this, your original post makes you seem quite beta. Maybe you sleep with girls here and there but doing try to inflate your ego by saying every other day a new girl.

Any stress or anxiety?
I have a large amount of work I need to do which ive been putting off greatly, which is definitely a factor in feeling down

I mean, is stress or anxiety a pattern in your life? Along with avoidant coping mechanisms to deal with it?
When I have something big coming up which I feel I haven't prepared for enough (which is all the time) I can feel down that im not working or that its hopeless. I wouldn't exactly call it stress or anxiety, more just feeling shitty about myself. Even though I always get it finished in the end.
I'm not sure how you could cope with that, other that working harder earlier on?

An avoidant coping mechanism is something you do to distract yourself from a stressor. Drugs, alcohol, sex, social media, procrastination, binge eating, the list goes on.
I suggest you look for a good therapist. Find one who focuses on the mind-body—that is, the manifestation of physical symptoms of stress.
I stress the importance of the mind-body because often times you don't know what's wrong on a cognitive level—but if you follow the physical symptoms of stress as you talk about things, you might be able to discover it.
It takes a skilled therapist to guide you through that process.

This is basically how 95% of women feel.
You may have a mild case of bipolar II disorder.
