As an introvert I don't often do it as I don't like drawing attention.

It can also depend on how your parents are. If they didn't display their affection to each other than you are likely to be the same. Even how your friends react can influence how you would. People from western countries like the UK are usually pretty reserved when showing affection in public, doing the opposite to social norms usually takes a lot of balls.
