Everyone has their own opinions.

It doesn't take much to reproduce. People in poor regions across the world have children, so resources are not the issue.

A lot of problems in the West are due to overintellectualization of issues that aren't really issues to begin with. This leads to depression, extreme feminism, and declining birth rates.

There's no harm in thinking about certain things, but overthinking stifles all action. It's like being an outfielder in a baseball game, and there's a high fly ball to which you can easily run to and catch. Instead, you stand there and decide to philosophize about the arc the ball creates and its resemblance to some arcane phenomenon in a black hole X trillion light years away. The ball continues on its path, eventually drops, and the game is lost.

I don't blame people for not wanting kids. At the same time, I think people with the means that choose not to have kids are weird. Personally, I just automatically think there's something wrong there. Take, Paul Allen, former Microsoft Co-founder, and multi-billionaire. Yea, he gave back a lot through philanthropy and helped humanity in his way, but I still think he's weird because he died and didn't have any kids. There was something of the night about him. Maybe he could've been helped, who knows.

Reproduction is primal. It's our one biological imperative, and what do we do? We decide that we should think about it. Rather than focusing on the issues at the root of that questioning—climate change, income inequality, rampant Peter Pan syndrome (everyone wants to be a kid forever), lack of masculinity, increasing automation in the workforce (loss of jobs), wealth concentration, etc.—we decide that we're not going to have any more children. Bravo.

I suppose, in a way, it does the solve the problems since, in time, there won't be issues left to think about because our species will be extinct. It's hilarious.
