The only honest way to get the truth is ask your guy friends. You can't get an honest answer from the girls, for a myriad of reasons. See what the guys say. People on asktrp don't know you or see how you interact, so there is no way to provide valuable advice unique to you.

That said, some 'general' advice is to simply ask a girl out the moment you think you are interested in her. Don't wait. Its possible the girls may have thought you were gay because they want you to approach them but you didn't, so they defaulted to "he must be gay".

Women are under the assumption (rightly or wrongly) that guys are sexual, aggressive, and want to sleep with them. Thus, when you violate their preexisting conceptions by not doing those things, they default to the other conception that you are beta/gay/insecure, etc.

Plus, the upside of this approach (just asking a girl out the MOMENT you might be interested in her) is you get quick feedback, and thus don't have to ruminate or worry about it (and I sense you are the type of guy who holds back and worries too much about it).
