This idea of explicit consent is one of the most retarded "rape-culture" blame-men ideas to come out of ostensible feminism. She starts off the video admitting that most people express consent non-verbally. What are the numbers on that? When you really look at their argument up close, it makes zero sense. Here's why.

Let's say you ask the girl, "Can we have sex?" Even if she says, "Yes," that doesn't mean you can jump on her and fuck the shit out of her. Even if her mouth is saying yes but her body is saying no, THAT'S STILL A NO.

In other words, a verbal yes doesn't matter. What matters is what her body is saying. If she's not into it physically, she's not into it. So telling someone to get a verbal yes for every step of the way is not only ludicrous, it's hipocritcal. NO ONE DOES THAT. Because it would be ridiculous.

"Can I kiss you?" She says yes so kissing commences.

"Can I kiss your neck?" She says yes so neck kissing commences.

"Can I touch your tit over your bra." She says yes so you touch her tit over her bra.

On top of that, what about HER ASKING FOR CONSENT BACK? Is it not on her to ask you whether she can touch you every step of the way?

All of this is so ridiculous. NO ONE WOULD DO THIS. And that's the point for these people. Men are typically the initiators during sex. If these so-called feminists can get society to agree to the idea of explicit verbal consent (which is ridiculous) then men are automatically held liable for rape when they don't ask for explicit consent every step of the way. Essentially, this idea turns every act of sex into rape for men. Every normal, consensual act of sex with a woman leaves men on the hook for rape.

I see what you're getting at in your critique, but for the sake of keeping my own prison time down, I'm willing to play the explicit consent game.

In the cases I do get to the point that clothes are coming off, I ask two vitally important questions every single time:

Are there any diseases or anything I need to be worried about?
You are aware that you can say no and go home at any time you like, right?

I ask both to cover my ass legally. I'm thinking of posting a little "Anything you say or do in this room may be recorded" sign somewhere inconspicuous by in plain view on my wall, in that my state is a two party notification state in terms of recording.

Ten maybe slightly awkward (and usually not awkward at all; if you can't have grownup talk about whether or not I'll piss cheese after I bang you, don't have sex) seconds keep me out of jail or the morgue.
