I actually support this.

It leads to stronger more stable families, less of a strain on a man to provide for the entire household, and lets a woman do what really makes her happy.

As a man, I would be elated that my woman could earn a salary to raise my kids.

She's cleaning your house and raising your kids, who is going to be paying her?

If this passes , I can guarantee you that the money will come from your wallet. This is going to be the equivalent of alimony payments while you are still married.

Jesus. Good call on the spouse robbing. You can bet your ass the government will weasel out of that responsibility by being very liberal about what constitutes a significant income.

So what happens is that money that was going to go to responsible savings and bill paying goes to a woman already benefiting from responsible savings and bill paying who will spend it on shit (on top of the shit she was already spending it on whole hubby is slaving away at work).

Even if the government is the one that pays the housewife to work it still comes from the man's pocket. Where does the government get it's money from? Taxes would have to be increased or other government funded things would have to go away in order to pay a housewife. The whole thing is completely idiotic. If something like this gets passed in a country they will be ruined. What happens if the guy wants to be a stay at home dad? What happens if both parents decide to do it?

I dunno, after a few glasses of wine, the armchair economist / politician comes out. What if the government realizes that that a housewife means a more well brought up child and wants to encourage the behavior?

I mean, thanks to the shitty wages and higher cost of living we're all dealing with, you need two incomes to sustain a house and family these days. Yet, children being raised by babysitters, nannies, nurseries, or even single moms are not contributing back to society as much as a kid brought up in a more old fashioned household.

I don't really believe that you need two incomes to run a family. You just need a better budget. If you are forced to pay an extra tax just to support the woman that you are already supporting it is only going to hurt the houses more. The money that a stay at home mommies house is being made by the daddy. If the mommy is forced by the government to be paid then daddy has to have his taxes increased. His tax money will go over to the housewife and government will get his cut. It isn't going to increase the amount of money in a household. It will more likely make it have less. Also, is the wife going to be able to get raises for being great at her craft or will she still be making the same wage she started at? It's a weird idea to even consider

The money is still going into your household tho.

I would support a general tax to support a direct supplement to my household, for me and my children. It is also a damn good reason for a woman to stay faithful.

Edit: The payment from the spouse or partner is complete BULLSHIT. I support it being paid by the state, fuck paying my wife to be a housewife. if this passed, i would IMMEDIATELY leave the country.
