I wanted to bring to the attention of the group a very good example of hypergamy in action. If you are like me, the concept of hypergamy was initially hard to grasp. As I read more and more theory, specifically Rollo's – The Rationale Male, I began to understand the concept and more importantly watch it play out in my day-to-day life.

To quickly summarize, Rollo explains in "Schedule of Mating" that men and women are driven by different priorities in mating. Specifically, women have both short and long term mating strategies, which are utilized simultaneously. In the short term, they aim to secure the most sexually stimulating male whom is attainable. In the long term, women aim to secure the male who can provide the most security for them. Notice the action verb “secure” – keep in mind that the feminine goal in mating is commitment from an alpha male. Although sex is part of that equation, it is not the object of her desire; it is the by-product of her desire.

For those unfamiliar with the sitcom The Big Bang Theory, it is about a nerd (Leonard) who is infatuated with a woman (Penny) whom is out of his league. This Love Story is the arc of the show and the basis for much of the drama. To state it as a Red Pill Scholar, Penny’s SMV is declining as she gets older and as such she is transitioning between short and long-term mating priorities.

Penny, the love-interest, is an attractive, aspiring actress who moved to California from Kansas for her “big break”. While that has yet to pan out, she works as a waitress at Cheesecake Factory. Leonard is an unattractive, necessitous nerd who is both physically unfit and socially inept. However, Leonard is very smart, works for California Institute of Technology and makes a lot of $$$. Both Penny and Leonard live in the same apartment building and conveniently live directly across from each other.

Despite his shortcomings, he is able to spark and develop a ‘relationship’ with Penny. As the show progress, the relationship gravitates from friendship to Love. However, what is equally important is that as the relationship between the two main characters grow – Penny still has an active dating life, pursuing and having sex with multiple alpha males. The show has run seven seasons. Predictably, the show will end with Penny marrying Leonard.

What the feminine imperative would like to have you interpret as the meaning of this Oneitis story is that being yourself, treating women right, being unquestionably loyal and providing undivided attention will inevitably get you the girl.

What a Red Pill Scholar will see is objective and unconditioned. Leonard did not get the girl because he loved her unconditionally; the girl chose him because over the course of seven years (seasons) two things happened: Penny’s SMV declined and her acting career did not develop. Louis CK had an amazing line in his stand up special “Oh My God”:

“Their options start running out really fast and you’re going to be there as long as you stay relatively employed and washed you’re going to be amazing in your 40’s, you’re going to be the branch that she can grab before she hits the ground. It’s gonna be so great. It just takes time for her circumstances to match your looks, but it’s gonna to happen. It’s gonna happen. When real shit matters, you’re going to be the sexiest motherfucker in the world. It’s just time, that’s all it takes. There is a formula to this, it’s pussy plus time over income squared.”

The importance of Hypergamy is that it affords the female the ability to maximize both her short-term and long-term options simultaneously. As a male, you don’t need a long-term option because you are the long-term prize. In order to be that prize, you must invest in yourself - completely. Follow the principles laid out here, but most importantly read the books. The more you read, the more this knowledge become subconscious.
