The basic premise of UR is that all the competing 20th-century systems of government, including the Western democracies which came out on top and which rule us to this day, are best classified as Orwellian. They maintain their legitimacy by shaping public opinion. They shape public opinion by sculpting the information presented to the public. As part of that public, you peruse the world through a lens poured by your government. Ie: you are pwned.

I don't know why he's so anti-Chomsky when they seem to agree.

That said, I think what TheRedPill and Moldbug's writing is getting at is that overarching intellectual movements (like feminism) are not driven by their ostensible ideals (usually "fairness" - whatever that means) but rather by subconscious motivations. At the root of all subconscious motivation is dog-eat-dog - that is to get as much as you can whenever you can. Resource acquisition in other words. All philosophies are (coincidentally?) self-serving. All conscious intellectual rationalization is simply a justification to "get yours".

At the end of his tract, Moldbug talks about revolution. A way for all like minded individuals to band together and get theirs.

My opinion? Read Animal Farm instead.
