This article completely misses the point. Introverts are not anti-social as the author seems to assume - we love socializing and feel happy socializing just like the article says. The problem is, we get extremely tired after socializing and need time alone to let our brains recharge.

Believe me, if they come up with a drug that eliminates the need for alone time to recharge I would be at my doctor's office in a heartbeat. It's honestly a pain in the ass to be enjoying myself hanging out with friends and feel that familiar fatigue coming on. I can tell when I'm getting close to needing time away to rest and a lot of times I'm not ready to quit hanging out with people.

Introversion/extroversion is something which interests me. I lean more toward the introverted side (an introverted Redditor? There's a novel concept). The theory behind introversion/extroversion that I follow says people have different needs for external stimulation (in psychology terms, arousal). Those who need more arousal tend toward extroversion, those who don't tend toward introversion.
