I've been told, "You win the debate logically, but you lose it emotionally." Which I take to mean that it doesn't matter if I make sense or not, it only matters how I make people feel. This is how Obama wins elections!

Skimmed and bookmarked for future close reading, it got me thinking about ego. Not in the arrogance/confidence sense, but in the Freudian sense of worldview and perception of reality and how one ties their entire sense of self-worth to it. There are far too many people whose minds would just crack if they were presented with a convincing argument that everything they thought they knew was wrong. I hope I'm not one of those people, I dont think I am....
