I have a concert coming up in a few weeks that I am attending with two co-workers that have been pretty cool. We are going to see the beach boys!!

I am 26, co-workers are 22 and 21. Co-workers keep insisting that we all go shopping together to get “matching outfits”, one is insisting SUPER hard.

I personally think its silly, i don’t want to go to a concert and get matching “beach boy” themed clothing. I suggested we all dress like 60’s beach girls, with some cute shorts, pin curled hair, red lips, and maybe a button down top with the bottom tied to show a little belly. But i’m not sure why they insist on shopping together.

The girl that is insisting to go shopping is also pushing for us to get ready together at her (small, stinky, dirty with dog pee and hair) dorm room, and i would rather get ready in my spacious apartment in my big bathroom with no dog hair (i’m allergic) sipping on some wine and jammin to beach boys lol

I was originally going by myself and when i mentioned it they got pretty excited and wanted to join. They were able to find seats next to me and everything. My introvert is showing and I almost regret saying anything at all lol, sort of feels like i’m getting steamrolled with this concert that was my idea in the first place.

I don’t want to be a bad sport or a stick in the mud, but I also don’t want to do something just to make a friend/get closer/ be apart of the group...ect.

Is it because i’m older? Or do y’all do this with your girlfriends?
