Trivial question but I'm curious if there's a RP related explanation.

Out of about twenty-five trick-or-treaters last night there were six or seven Elsas and only one Anna. This mirrored the class picture that made the front page yesterday.

For those that haven't seen the movie, I should explain that Anna is the main character. She also seems designed as the more interesting and relatable personality. Anna goes on a standard Disney ensemble adventure for a portion of the film, has romantic interests, and is less mature and restrained than Elsa. The kids in the audience didn't seem to get the message though.

I found a blog post that puts up four theories for the Elsa peference:

  1. Power and status

  2. Universal blonde preference

  3. Supernatural power fantasy

  4. Pretty dress

To these I would add:

  1. Anna has a lame boyfriend.
  2. The main character (Anna) seeks the approval and attention of Elsa. The reverse is not seen. (Another power dynamic.)
