I've been in an LTR with this girl for ~9-10 months. She left a long term relationship to be with me. Before that she had another long term relationship, 7 years or so, with the guy relevant to this story. Fairly early on in our relationship we took a road trip and while driving back her ex was calling her trying to stay at her apartment while he was in town. I made it clear that I don't date girls who are still involved with their ex's, but I don't actually know how this played out. Then, about 7 months ago he moved back to town. One morning I was at her place and her ex walks into the apartment early in the morning and starts knocking on the bedroom door. He clearly didn't know I was there when he came and started crying, calling her "baby" when he found out someone else was in her bed. I know I probably should have ended it at this point, but she convinced me she told him off and wouldn't communicate with him anymore. A couple days ago I found out that they are still communicating. She loves gardening and told me about a plant she bought. When I asked her where the plant was she was forced to tell me she gave it to her ex. She claims she is just friends with him because she is uncertain about my level of commitment and doesn't want to end a friendship if I'm not committed. This is my first RP relationship and I know the responses will most likely be to next her. She has lied to me and knowingly continued behavior I consider to be disrespectful. On the other hand I really don't feel like her ex is anything more than a comfort blanket. Both her exes are super beta and she is always down for sex with me and often wants to talk about the future. Is this a clear next situation or is there somewhere I'm slipping?
