So for the past 7 days, I forced myself to stop drinking coffee every morning, smoking a pack of cigarettes every day, watchinng porn 5 times a day, eating junk food multiple times a day, and drinking a pill to sleep every night.
I have a headache that feels it's gonna split my skull right open.
I relapsed a couple of times when it comes to porn, drank a cup of coffee yesterday cuz I had some work to do, and drank a sleeping pill yesterday. But cigarettes, never.
The pain I'm in is absolutely unimagineable. It all started with a simple question: how would my life be if I stopped being dependant on all of these things? How much time and money will I be saving if I stopped doing these things? And here I am trying to do it.
Today, however, I feel like I'm losing motivation and my hand is itching me to buy that pack of cigarettes and relax a little, but I know deep inside that if I do that, then it'll be an endless cycle of shame and self-loath and most importantly, unproductivity and idlness.
For a week, I picked up a foreign language and attended a couple of social events and also started cooking at home and tried exercising but my body is not responding well. I'm feeling lethargic and unable to do any heavy exercising or learning.
I'm not seeking solutions to speed up the process cuz we all know there's no such thing, I'm asking for tips or things to be aware of or do to break off these habits.
One "trick" I am implementing is building up new more productive habit. This may sound basic, but for example, I started taking cold showers every day, I started taking care of my skin by applying moisturizers and masks, I learn the language I mentioned every day I wake up from sleep...
Besides lifting and meditating, (which I don't think I can do due to the exhaustion and pain I'm feeling) what other routines/habits you recommend? Something that maybe helped you overcoming addiction or things of the sort.
