IMO, I've acted the way a man should in a healthy relationship.

However, there was always a common issue that my ex would bring up in regards to how much affection (lack of) I was giving her.

I'm not really the PDA type or even the type to want to kiss and hug my girlfriend all the time. I don't even really need words of affirmation. My girlfriend needed all of these.

The nail in the coffin was that she had been going through some shit that was making her more emotional than normal, and I wasn't as sensitive to the situation and her as she wanted me to be.

So, she broke it off on the grounds that we both just have different expectations from a relationship.

I'm doing fine, but she was a great partner. IMO, it was a relationship that had all the components a real relationship should have. It was maybe just missing a little bit of passion. I will admit I did probably give too little affection in general, but that was just one part of the whole relationship.

The reason I'm writing this is because I'm wondering why it got to this point for her, if the relationship was operating in my frame. I always maintained a bit of mystery to me. I was definitely the holder of power in the relationship. Etc.
