When you say direct never worked for you. You mean nothing is actually working. Just because it takes longer for you to freeze out with an indirect opener doesn’t mean it’s working better.

Direct announces your intention, which is bolder and more confident. Indirect is sneakier. Either way she knows that you are attracted to her.

Your problem is not the techniques but probably deeper things. Your level of anxiety, how you feel about yourself, how you can connect with women.

My challenge is this: next time forget all the shit you’ve learned about pick up. Get into your senses in the moment. If you feel anxious just accept it. Notice your thoughts but don’t analyse the shit out of everything. Then just be honest/ say what’s on your mind/ do what you want/ have fun. Very loose guidelines, so that should free you up. Step 2.) Make very little small talk— one to two comments.

Step 3.) Talk Logistics about setting up a date.

Texting anything but logistics shows that you are not a man of value. A man of value is so busy doing productive and awesome shit, that he doesn’t have time to waste on being an emotional tampon through texting.

Asking opinions is indirect, which means there's no romantic intent like with the direct openers. The main issue with indirect is that you can get stuck in just general conversation, and it can sometimes be harder to transition.

it never worked because its a trash opener. most direct openers are.

I also see nothing in your post about false time constraints or breaking rapport right after the open or even instant dates. which you need to be doing if you ever want to increase your opening conversion ratio.

your problem is you don't know how to break rapport. you dont know how or you're scared to.

you should open, break rapport and within 3-5mins be on your way to the instant date.

I don't like this opener at all. You're complimenting someone you don't know and justifying talking to her. The canned openers are useful for getting started, but while practicing them, you should be learning to read people and situations to the degree that you get comfortable striking up conversations and keeping people interested. What you say and how you say it is dictated to a large degree by the surroundings and overall vibe. So keep doing cold approaches, just find some new conversation starters.

Works for me but I wouldn’t say “I think you’re cute” but I would say something like “hey, you’re pretty cute. I gotta dip but we should kick it sometime; what’s your math?”
