Your first mistake is getting all your info from the internet. People IRL are super normal. I don't see any of this hysteria IRL. People date like normal without asking for verbal consent 5 million times, don't accuse one another of rape, and just generally have moderate and sane views.

Also: consider that the crazies are often loudest. Especially on the internet.
