This was prompted by something that came up in my FB today under a Spanish-language network's page, but will be using the older CBS News link, which is in English, for the sake of posting here.

Back in February of this year, CBS News did a story on paid cuddling, AKA "hugging therapy", and featured two such cuddlers-for-hire, a mature male in California and a thirtysomething female in Oregon. And it's probably been reported on a few times before that and since.

As a single guy currently spinning only one plate, I find the whole idea of paid cuddling a bit odd, in that in cheapens gestures of affection and smacks of a palatably diluted form of prostitution. Yet I don't regard it as entirely absurd, as I'm sure there are some people out there who might genuinely benefit from such a service, like a lonely pensioner whose spouse died or a person handicapped in such a way that prohibits them from enjoying sexual intimacy.

Anyway, how do some of you here feel about this sort of thing? Would you ever seek out such services for yourself? How would you react if a SO or the SO of a man close to you (relative or friend) sought out such services? Would you yourself work as a cuddler if you could? Would you let a SO get a job as a cuddler?
