Women date up. So they would rather be in a relationship where they are dating someone of a higher value than themselves, even if that person treats them poorly, rather than date someone of the same or lower value that would treat them well.

I was thinking about an old male acquaintances that had pretty low value, overweight dude with a decent income but still lived with his mother at age 35. He kept trying to get with an overweight girl that was pretty much disgusted by him, but she still friend zoned him anyway.

So I was thinking why she wouldn't hook up with him, they both had pretty similar value. As a fat girl going into her mid 30's she's not going to have many options. So the only way I can rationalize it is to think she's going to hook up with someone that has higher value than her, and I'm assuming whoever would be that gross would end up probably treating her like trash. So she must be willing to be treated poorly for the chance of getting a higher value male in other specs.

I'm generalizing but I've definitely seen girls that fall into that category.
