I've noticed as a whole that WOW tends to be in overdrive around christmas. I went to christmas at my elder brothers house, he has a new girlfriend that he has been dating for months and she's a single mother with a very young child (around a year old). There is nothing special about her, she's average looking, I wouldn't say she's particularly nice or helpful, but all of the family members for some reason treated her like she is the single most impressive person in the world. Covered her with new gifts, for both herself and the baby (which my brother is a schmuck for allowing to live with him) and just generally treated her like some form of goddess.

It really struck home just how different any women gets treated, my sisters boyfriend who I think is a generally great guy, probably a bit low value but hes great to everyone gets next to no fanfare, but holy hell my brothers girlfriend. I swear she got multiple very expensive gifts from nearly all the family members (and my brother) probably walked out of christmas with over a thousand dollars worth of stuff from random family members she barely knows just keen to provide for her and her child.

It goes to show that women really do just have to hit the lowest common standard to be not only accepted but practically worshipped by everyone. I mean my brother is essentially raising a kid thats not his own and everyone is acting like its the best thing in the world, in the case that just maybe I guess he'll get her knocked up.
