So I'm not new, but I'm not an "expert" so take what I say with a grain of salt, if you will.
After many months of researching feminism (for fun, not for serious), and gaining a better understanding of men's roles in society (both presently and historically), I notice something that is probably the crux of many men's issues these days. That's the dirty little 'e' word: Emotions.
Once upon a time emotions were suicide for men. You couldn't afford to feel too deeply because it dragged you in directions counter to your role: provider, protector. Men without privilege worked near round the clock. Once you reached adulthood, your role as provider was a full-time job, and there were no unions to cap it at 40hrs. Today things are decidedly different.
We, as men, have the luxury of emotions. We are technically allowed to cry in society now. This luxury is appealing, I mean fuck we're all human, and emotions are what our society tells us is the thing that proves we have a soul. The trouble is, emotions are the language of women, logic is the language of men.
So we're all here reading RP shit, and we've all heard that women want emotional validation while men want sexual validation. In short, we want sex, they want an emotional tampon. Here's the rub though.
Denial of sex is easy for women, denial of emotions for men is hard, and to further exacerbate the problem women are masters of manipulation. We are a decided disadvantage when it comes to playing the manipulation game, while women know all they need to know about being tempting to us.
All the more reason for guys to learn how to abstain completely from getting emotionally involved with women. It's a trap that many of us can never hope to outsmart, its not in us.
there doesn't seem to be anything here
