This post prompted me to google search "Can I prevent my wife from taking my last name after we get married?" for some reason.

I got 10 pages full of results that were "These men took their wives last names and they love it" and "Why my [the wife] children took my last name".

This is kinda wrong because yes, all the names of the past are from the men, it will always be like that until at one point people start making the switch. So while the first woman to not do so might only be passing down her fathers last name, her children and drandchildren will have the option of their mothers surname.

Most marriages end in divorce anyways. I have an ex running around with my last name. I kinda want it back...probably better if everyone keeps there own names. and once you go mgtow, don;t even tell them your last name, lol....

This assumes the woman came from a married couple.

If she came from another single mom, she got her mom's last name, which is likely to be grandfather's last name.

If we have generations of single moms, EVENTUALLY the last name came from a man's last name, whether it is grandfather, great-grandfather, great-great-grandfather.....
