Yes. I think a funny man is a combination of wit and confidence.

Having quick wit is a sign of intelligence and a man needs confidence to deliver his jokes effectively or make humorous, bold observations. Both are attractive to women.

Most people like humor because it makes them laugh and temporarily forget about how miserable life actually is. It's why anybody watches any comedic television show or movie, so it works just as well when it comes to mate selection too. Even men like a funny woman if they are able to get past the initial physical attraction/non-attraction paradigm.
