They're different but related. SMV is sexual desirability. SMV is a part of MMV, but obviously there's a lot more to determining whether or not someone will be a good life-long partner than how hot/good in bed they are.

And I would say they are different depending on sex, because women have much higher standards. All women have to do to be sexually desirable is be hot. Men have to be hot and have solid game.

Not sure about gender differences in the marriage market because I don't have experience with that.

There was a topic just like this recently, except it was talking about RMV (relationship market value) instead of marriage. But the same basic principles apply:

They are not the same.
Only physical appearance matters for SMV, and almost nothing else.
Physical appearance matters for LTR-MV, but it is only one of several major factors, and depending on a person's preferences it may not even be the most important one. Additionally, women and men tend to have different standards in this regard (both in the sense that women's standards are higher in general, and that the factors influencing their attraction to a mate are different from those used by men).
