I think the SJW movement is overplaying its hand. In thirty years they've gone from demands which were largely reasonable to demands that are slightly silly to demands that are absolutely ridiculous, and eventually people say "well fuck this".

For instance, SJWs or their ideological ancestors did a great job of convincing everybody that racism is a terrible thing. The worst thing. The only sin you can't risk committing any more. But now they've started actively claiming that "racism against white people doesn't count". At this point white people may start to wonder what's in this anti-racism thing for them.

Suppose you see two boys fighting in the playground, a big boy and a little boy. You go in and break the fight up and force them to shake hands. But then you think: hey, that was a bit unfair, the big boy got more punches in before the fight ended. So you declare okay, the little boy is allowed to hit the big boy as much as he likes but the big boy just has to stand there and take it. How long is the big boy gonna put up with this arrangement?

Well, they found increasingly creative ways to fight Teh Patriarchy^TM .

For example in a linguistic way: German has gendered nouns (imagine any female noun in English had an -ess added to it, and you get the gist), and the default for plural is masculine, so they went to great lengths to genderize their texts by using female nouns (as in "Dear workerEsses!") with the reasoning that discrimination starts at the language - but ironically, German also uses plenty of feminine articles by default (they/you(formal)/she, their/your(formal)/her and them/the(feminine) respectively all use the same words). However, pointing out the inconsistency in that line of thinking usually leads to them taking out the torches and pitchforks.

Another awesome example my former roommate has told me. He is a member of a left-wing libertarian fringe party which (at least at the time) cooperated with the Greens and they had a joint regular's table to share ideas about how to proceed on the grassroots level. The communication, however, was rather tedious, the reason being that the green side insisted that gender parity when it comes to bringing forward your arguments had to be strictly respected (despite the gender ratio being roughly 15:1). Basically every time something was said by a guy it went like this "does someone have something to add? (guys raise their hands, girl doesn't) Anyone else? (girl still doesn't raise her hand) Ooookay... (picks a guy)" The reaction from my friend: "oh my God, they even gendered their freaking speaking lists!"

Well, first world problems...
