The following joke explained, skip if you know why blood thinner sucks...

7 weeks ago I was out on a run and a pickup truck decided to kick my ass. I put in a good fight, dented his windshield, did all the damage I could, but alas - he gotta he better of me. I wound up in the hospital with my tibia 2 inches outa my body and 6 other broken bones. For 6 weeks I was told I had to stab myself twice daily with Lovenox. Same exact place in my abdomen. And if I didn't do it, I risked a blood clot.

Well there's the joke explained.

And now for the joke: Books are like blood thinner: it fucking sucks, but you need it.

(What a shit joke it's not even funny...)

I guess my point is that books suck. It sucks to sit down and practice something that doesn't stimulate you the way television does. (Ever notice how the camera angle changes every 6 seconds max? It's one of those sneaky things that you don't notice unless you're actually looking for it. But I digress.) What I'm saying is that we live in this society where something new catches our eye 24/7 every second of every day, and books are like 1930s movies: no effects and it's pretty fucking dull. So we don't want to read.

But if you don't read, if you don't learn, you get stupid. You get really fucking stupid. And you get boring. Because you "live" TRP, yet you neglect 1/3rd of it's value:

  1. the physical: your body, your posture, your wardrobe. Lift.

  2. the soul and the spiritual (for lack of a better term): how you act, how much freedom you have, where your values lie, how much fun you have, how alpha you are, everything that's your personality and lifestyle. Oh and sex.

  3. the mental and intellectual: how smart you are, how much you know.

Many of you come here and you jump to conclude that the goal is to fuck a HB78910 with ease and amused mastery. And that's fine fun good and great, but that's only the sexual part of TRP. And sex is far from everything.

We forget all about point number 3 until an endorsed TRPer makes a post about READING THE FUCKING SIDEBAR BEFORE YOU SHIT POST. and i don't disagree with MR RP-Endorsement in the slightest. And I suppose this is to serve as a reminder too. But I want to do a little more than that.

I don't care how busy you are - You all have 20 minutes in your day. It might be spent on a power nap, or on a relaxing masturbatiatory TV show - whatever. But you do have it. For the next week try this one out:

Read 20 minutes or 30 pages of a quality book a day (whichever takes longer...it's good for you.)

Try this for a week. It'll be a bitch at first, but when it becomes routine, it becomes easy. And if you don't like it, if you're really too busy, by all means drop it from your plate. But give books a fucking try.

Some benefits:

-It'll give you more to think about, you'll learn new ideas and gain new perspectives. You'll be smarter. Better educated.

-You'll become a better writer yourself, and that can never hurt.

-You'll become a better, faster reader.

-You'll become a better speller, a skill google has made obsolete.

Some books for you to read:

The Manipulated Man

The Rational Male

No More Mr Nice Guy

48 Laws Of Power

Mastery

The Red Queen

Neil Strauss The Game

Book of Pook

The War Against Boys

Dale Carnegie How To Win Friends And Influence People

That's a couple thousand pages of literature for you to read. All RP. All social dynamics, anti feminism, positive masculinity - all the good shit. You'll probably enjoy a lot of it.

Now when you're done with that...

This motherfucker with the tedious name...illimitable

Rollo Tomassi... If you appreciate the shit he writes he has a dog charity on his site if you'd like donate

Not to be a kissass, but these guys are fantastic bloggers and have a ton of content to absorb.

I'm sure I must have missed a few books and blogs, leave a comment and I'll edit my list of reading material to accommodate.

Remember, 20 minutes a day. Just try it for a week.

The more you learn about the world around you the better off you'll be. And words are the root of all knowledge.

And also, reading on TRP counts as well. That's why it's there. Structured lit and essays are just one step up from a subreddit.

TLDR: though books can be boring, they're absolutely, 100% fucking necessary.
