I have direct reports at work. Our relationship is good. I treat them well, and I treat them the way I want to be treated.
But it's crossed my mind that this is exactly how I treated the women I was interested in, when I was blue-pilled. I was kind and generous to them as I wished they would be to me.
As a result, I had plenty of female friends, but they didn't really respect me and I never got what I needed (to be laid.)
I wondered if this is the same as office dynamics.
I am as kind and generous to my direct reports as I wish they would be to me.
As a result, my direct reports like me ... but do they respect me? And will I ever get promoted by following the golden rule (do unto others...)?
Or is it better to treat direct reports like women, and get what I can out of them, recognize they'll never be happy, and run "dread game" on them so I can get ahead?
If you have an opinion, please let me know what kind of people manager you are: industry, size of company, years of experience, number of reports.
