This is what I think it means to hold frame. Like for example, having a discussion and everyone disagrees with you. Yet you still keep your opinion/perspective in the face of all that criticism because you truly maintain your position and did thorough research. Only after the argument are you open to looking into their side of it and doing more research into it while being open to change your mind. This is because if you are too open-minded DURING the conversation, your frame can easily be broken which means that anything you say from that point on is negated because you've lost your power or "say" in the group dynamic. This doesn't mean don't listen to them. It's good to have active listening skills and not to be passive agressive. Just don't show hesitation or signs of caving. This could also apply to a reddit post when you're getting ganged up on by others (ex. if you post red pill ideology on another subreddit that's what you can expect).

Or you want a girl's number and she offers you to give her your number, but you hold your frame and persist to get their number (this needs obvious social calibration so you're not eagerly asking 5 times and being a creep, but insisting 2 times gently shows that you held your intent).

I feel like this is also why it's important to only speak about something you've researched thoroughly. Or to know what you're doing before going outside with someone (logistics), and being aware of what do in case unexpected situations happen. Any sort of hesitation in how you carry yourself or make decisions leads the other person to (not consciously, it's just a natural process) want to dethrone you.
