Those of you who've decided to further your education at an older age, what advice/tips do you have to stay focused/driven?

A big downfall prior to me stepping away, was chasing too much tail, and trying to develop the social aspect. As a result, I fell behind in my studies, and don't want this to happen again.

I'm determined to knock this obstacle out this time around, however unsure of how to handle the distractions surrounding the environment.
