Well women do "check in" on guys just to see what they're doing. Sure there's a reason why I couldn't care less about it.

They're definitely checking in, and it's not the only way they do it.

In several instances, when I didn't respond to certain girls in my social circle, they contacted friends to check up on what I was up to. We would meet, and those friends would gather information about what I was doing, and whether or not there were girls in my life. This information would then be forwarded to the girls.

It's not a bad thing in the sense that you have people that care about you. However, no one told me what they were doing, and I found out about all of it indirectly, which made it feel more deceptive, and removed any notion of good intentions. I don't know if it's avoidable because there will always be talk behind your back.

I've found that if you're not controlling others, and doing what you want to do, then you're being controlled by others, and doing what they want you to do. You can't do nothing, and be left alone.

People take that as a license to prey on you.

I don’t text or open snaps from girls unless it’s between 6 and 10pm or if we have made plans. I just tell them that I have work to do during the day and that my bedtime is 10. This is regardless if I’m out with friends or actually sleeping past 10. I don’t post anything or share my location on anything so they are free to imagine what I’m actually doing. Anything sent after won’t be responded to until the following day after 6. I’m not trying to waste sleep on lonely/jealous hoes.

Set rules for yourself on this and follow it.
