Interviews are my specialty. I’ve gotten an offer at every job I’ve interviewed for.

Have questions ready. Not generic bullshit, questions that show you did your research. You should know a good deal about the company. You should be interviewing them too.

You should know what they’re going to ask. Interviews are almost all identical at their core.

When they inevitably ask for a weakness, give them an honest one. Don’t do that crap where you try to disguise a strength as a weakness. Even the most incompetent interviewer will see through that.

Relax. They’re interested in you. Be casual while still maintains your edge. I enjoy interviews, if you get in the mindset that you do too, makes it a whole lot easier.

I like to ask how I could’ve improved at the end got that from my buddy who landed a job at Space X. I thrive on feedback and critiques, so I show them.

Have specific strengths you bring to the table. You should be able to explain why they should hire you.

Before speaking, wait until the interviewer finishes speaking. You may know where he is going or what question is about to be asked, but let him finish before responding. You'd be surprised how many people interrupt in conversations where it is important to let the speaker finish.

OH. And schedule the interview about AFTER the lunch hour. I hardly do important conversations in the AM hours if I don't have to. Interviews, big sales convos, etc. are done ideally with an audience that isn't hungry and antsy. You think having lunch doesn't affect interviews and sales? Are you kidding? Here's the key points to prep:

1) Research the company and its value proposition — Crunchbase, etc.

2) Research the team/role on LinkedIn

3) Ask meaningful questions, here's my question template below, it's geared toward sales and marketing (I do demand generation), but tailor it to you. I usually hit 3-5 questions from my list. I like to end my part of questions with, "What career highlight are you most proud of at XYZ Company?"

(Why is a great closing question? It's framed in a positive light. It lets people talk about themselves and their most sacred cow—their work. It ends the conversation on a good note. The interviewer is more inclined to leave you positive feedback)

inventory of paid campaigns? What’s the budget? Conversions? Clicks?
Top lead sources? Best campaigns?

Go over your resume, your cover letter, the job description, and the company's website pages about their values and mission.

Be ready to answer questions and talk in detail about EVERY point listed in those.

Also follow up with a thank you email immediately after. There are templates online for this. Include how interested you are in the company, the role, and specific conversation points from the interview.
