The boy crisis is global, but it’s egregious in the US. By high school, nearly 20% of American boys will be diagnosed with ADHD. But if 20% of boys have a given trait, one might consider the trait is part of being a boy and not something to be drugged.

Boys with birthdays in August are much more likely to be diagnosed with ADHD, because August is the cutoff for preschool so kids with August birthdays are the youngest in their grade. Instead of acknowledging that different kids mature at different times, schools medicate the most immature to enable teachers to manage large groups of kids.

Boys are more likely than girls to want to run around rather than sit still, and girls mature faster than boys. As a result, teachers identify boys as the cause of their inability to manage 30 kids at once. And social workers respond by recommending medication to the parents of boys. The result: schools are penalizing boys for being boys.

Schools and the media hate boys, men, and masculinity. This is a shame, as it hurts women as well, because men and women are complementary. Too few people seem to be discussing this issue, however, and we should see an uprising of mothers talking about how the school system is attempting to abuse and destroy their sons.

I was just about to link this article.

I thought it was a great read. Non-pc and very matter of fact.

Language of masculinity has all but disappeared. Makes it so important to define it for ourselves and live a life in accordance with those traits. Lives literally depend on it.

For too long now we've allowed masculine traits to be deemed toxic, and believed masculinity can be socially constructed. The result is a bunch of confused, a-sexual men lacking a clear identity or path.

Some devil's advocate here, Why's it any one person's job to save everyone else? Why should I try to unsoy the rest of the west? If 8/10 dudes are lame asses, that just makes my cruise down the road all the easier. And if I had a kid some day, then it'll make their lives all the easier too. Boy or girl.

I feel for all the people out there believing in Disney fantasies and aspiring to live lives of the past in our present day and age, but when the holes in their dreams get poked through and they double down rather than look for alternatives then do they really wanna be saved? I'm glad we have bastions of Man that care this much, I am. I just don't understand why there's this expectation that every man in the sphere has the same agenda.

Reading/writing an article that says the same thing we've known for the last couple decades isn't making any strides to solve our "problems". The message isn't getting blasted on megaphones across the nation. People aren't up in arms, breaking down doors to stop little boys from going to school.

Believing in some restoration of masculinity is just as disney as believing in blue pill fantasy, to be completely honest. And just like the tons of articles point to, it's gonna get worse before it gets better.
