Spoilers may be included but I'll be vague.

First of all I just watched the movie and was a bit hesitant due to what I read here. I thought the movie was great. Sure it is empowering to women in a certain aspect but in another it's very denigrating. Furiosa is an empowered woman as the women in her tribe are, she is capable but in the end her own feelings make her miss the truth of her situation and Mad Max reminds her of it. Mad Max is the hero not Furiosa and whoever disagrees did not see the same movie as me, she went on a mission to save the birthers from Immoran but she failed miserably and would never been able to get as far as she did without his help and later on from a different male character. She was ill prepared and not capable even surrendered that she'd need him at a certain point very promptly. Furthermore when she decides to keep heading East just shows her lack of a plan and how blinded she was by her own emotions. If she was a strong female character; there were always other female characters around her to display incompetency and frailty in the face of danger. They only displayed courage towards the end.

Mad Max was always fighting, demonstrating valor and willing to sacrifice himself to help them achieve their goals. He was never hopeful and in fact he just wanted to see if that was real or not and get his vengeance in the way. When he decides he had enough of her emotional bs he showed her the true way to achieve her dreams.

Overall it's a great action movie which should appeal to female viewers with it's emotional twists. It is a little too emotional for an action movie but the action is non stop. I'd highly recommend it and dare I say it but the movie was very red pill. Even an empowered woman will need the alpha male who in the end will still walk away.
