I would actually like to see this remade... only I would like a scene where the woman continually harasses the man, hits him, calls him names etc for ages but THEN he eventually hits her back, like a massive backhanded slap (faked of course).

I'm willing to bet that's when the White Knights step in and that's when others will get involved. They will also side with the woman too.

Which will only further our body of evidence as to how exaggerated male-on-female violence is.

I kind of wonder now if by default I have ever ignored this. I mean I grew up knowing I should protect a woman, but a man? Never occurred to me actually.

I think seen this many in person and have done nothing, And since I have now been an abused boyfriend, I will confront the woman and ask if its ok to hit him.

It might have something to do with the male being able to defend against the woman, and the woman not being able to defend herself against the man, in the case of escalation, the man that's being hit by the girl can overpower her, but the woman that's being hit by the man is unable to get out of the situation. Just a observation. If the man was in a situation where he was being beaten by a girl that was able to overpower him, it might be a different situation, but that situation is also extremely rare, due to the great physical gap between men and woman, favoring the man obviously.
