Never mind the shitty headline (what would the SJW's do if a major newspaper suggested that women needed justification to exist?), this research actually gives us the scientific reason that hypergamy exists, and, if anything, makes me slightly less pissed at the female of the species. She can't help it, she's genetically programmed to make our species "better."

The basic gist is that when women choose a mate rather than having one forced on them, a species is less likely to suffer from the genetic mutations caused by inbreeding, and poor genes are less likely to be passed on to the next generation.

Sexual selection gave the beetles an edge, because females with a choice -- and many males competing for their attention -- were less likely to mate with genetic losers.

I can't help but think that the criteria with which women make their selection is a little flawed, if it can be so easily overcome with game.
