Youtube is always an easy place to start for the basics.

You’ll want to get yourself set up with a trading/investing app such as wealthsimple, questrade, robinhood, etc.

Step 1: Download Robinhood

Step 2: Set up your account

Step 3: Get your free stock, proceed to sell it

Step 4: Deposit $1000 or however much you feel comfortable putting in

Step 5: YOLO all that money you deposited and the money from the free share you sold and go all in on PLTR shares

Step 6: Wait for PLTR to go to the moon

Step 7: Buy a Lambo

Step 8: Thank me for the advice

Trading and investing are very different animals. Investing is for long term growth and trading is more short term gains. I’m currently trading and the learning curve is steep but once you get your strategy down it’s like having your own money printer. But expect a couple years of learning and losing money. Investing takes less of a learning curve, but your gains are also less and slower. So it’s really up to you and what you want to sacrifice, but the sky is the limit in the potential of money you can make

I’d suggest getting a bedrock of index funds and then start buying percentages of stocks you think have upside

Pay for a reputable mentor, there’s no shortcuts. You have to spend money to make money. Does an athlete train by himself with exercises from YouTube or does he get the best trainer possible to reach the highest level possible...?

If you’re gonna ignore my advice, this is what you need to for trading. Start on demo and begin trading, journaling everything (you can fjnd YouTube vids on how to). From this journal is how you’re going to be able to optimise your strategy by doing post analysis. Once you’re ready use a live account following your strategy risking 1-3 % per trade no more.

Get a mentor though honestly

There is no right answer. I listen to people who are smarter than I am.

Listen to Jim Cramer and Warren Buffet. Read their books, and read the Motley Fool.

Best advice I've ever heard is do the opposite of what you hear on the media. When they say it's the best market yadda yadda sell and when they say we are doomed buy.

Granted I am just starting myself, but I believe this should help.

Be careful of the YouTube guys.. I guarantee the YouTube guys are making their money selling you "ThE SeCreT tO StOcK PiCkInG aNd DaY tRaDiNg."

There's tons of steps on the basics and tons of books guides courses all types of stuff out there. Look around at a few things pick something that seems to appeal to you and go from there. There's no perfect way of doing it.. just do it

If all you have is 1000$ just blow it on hookers and blow. Much better investment

With a 1000 you can get started. Open up TD Ameritrade and download think or swim software for free. No commission trades. And just start messing around, it even has a trading simulator to practice. Or if you like options then Robinhood is free options trading
