Had a similar situation in a recent relationship but it wasn't a shit test. Girl decides 1 month into the relationship that she wants to study in Itay for a year abroad, stood my ground and said I will not be part of an optional long-distance relationship all because she wants to spend time sightseeing and meeting new people. Anyway she assumed I was so pussy-whipped and went ahead with her application. Didn't waste time and and ended the whole thing. This was pre-TRP and I felt guilty at first but after discovering TRP and the abundance mentality, I'm a free and happy man.

One of my exs was trying for a job in another city. She assumed we'd be long distance. When she came around looking for validation on her potential better job, I simply said "do what you like. Sounds like a great job. However, there won't be an us if you move. I don't do LDRs". She was speechless.

She ended up not going and said she wanted me to tell her to stay for the relationship. Lol, what kind of idiot would do that (or even better, move to her).

If you were doing that to "pass a test" then that's a little lame. But if that's how you truly felt then good job. It's not your job to "make something work" with someone if it's gonna make you unhappy. She's doing something to better herself, and that's her choice, but she needs to know it's her birthright to get to move away and "keep her man". If something's non-negotiable for you, then you don't negotiate it, simple.That's not manipulation, that's knowing yourself and what you can and can't deal with.

Someone who cares about you enough to want to make an attempt to make a distance relationship work (which is two hours away, not exactly another continent) and you throw it back in her face due to trying to conform to some immature masculine ideal?

Yes you can try a pass it off as being all 'alpha', but why the fuck wouldnt she think this guy clearly isnt worth my time if this is how much he respects me. Either you dont think the relationship is worth the effort and therefore end it, or you come together and work through how to make things acceptable for what id assume would be a couple of years.

Relationships are give and take. One of the biggest tools a true man needs is to be an effective communicator. That means being able to listen before all else. You cant just reduce all situations to some internet philosophy otherwise you've just swapped one bondage for another. Especially as i thought reducing conformity was one of this subs biggest goals.

It wasn't a test in a negative way like how you seem to have taken it. I'm a female and sometimes what you'll do (guys have done this same scenario to me too) is for example..I really wanted to go to LA for school..across the country. I told my bf I applied and got in and that I am going. I did this because I wanted to know his "true" reaction before I made the move to apply ( because I knew I would get in). I wanted to know if he would stay with me, because me being dumb and young at the time wouldn't go to LA if it meant losing him. Luckily he was excited for me. When I told him I did that before even applying, he said " you don't need to test me because I love you enough to stand by you even if your far away". If anything what she was doing was being selfless and solely focusing on wanting to be with you and making sure you would be OK with a place she really wanted to go to.
