We have a tight nit group of about 8 of us who have been friends for 6+ years, I was hanging out with two of my friends and I we were getting introduced to one of my friends gf...However during the social gathering, my other friend was making it really awkward for my other friends girlfriend and she responded with "I feel really awkward right now" and then he proceeds with "Have you met OP!!?" I didn't really know what to say so I just laughed...I really didn't appreciate the comment in the fact that he tried to put me down in front of her.

I messaged him the next day saying that I'm fine with getting roasted amongst the group but not in front of other people and didn't really appreciate the comment you made about me when you spoke to my other friends gf, so he apologized. Did I handle this correctly, is there anything I could have done better?
