Early 40s, married 20 years to a beautiful girl, 1 kid in college, 2 advanced degrees, a career I’ve reached the level I aspired to, and a very popular art hobby that I’ve been successful enough at to probably put me in the 80th percentile of all those interested in the field. I used to be all-consumed by this hobby—associating my entire identity with it. But now I’m not sure I want to continue with it any longer. Working to get my physique to where it needs to be now—started kickboxing classes recently—but I associate it more for exercise than a passion. I have a bookcase full of world literature I’ve wanted to catch up on, but now I’m not interested. I’ve always been a very passionate person, but now I feel aimless and disinterested in anything. I don’t feel depressed. Just no longer motivated by anything. Can’t think of anything new that ignites my imagination.
Anyone else go through a similar experience?
