The red pill is about improving yourself

I would say that the red pill is about accepting the reality of human sexuality - letting go of blue pill lies.

It's a theory about how the world really works. PUA is more practical advice.

So in that sense, I agree with you that the plethora of "how do I pass this test" questions are indicative of a problem. The problem is, if you really accepted the truth, then these things (shit tests or whatever) would not bother you. You would improve yourself mentally and physically and not worry about any one particular girl.

Because the truth of the culture you find yourself in is that failure is just part of it. There is no magical incantation that gets you a specific girl. But there are behaviors and traits that increase your chances - like counting cards, you're still going to bust sometimes. If you feel the need to come here and say, "here's the hand I had, and here's what I bet, but I busted - please someone help me!!" then you're not getting it. Understand the underlying theory and you'll win more often, but never even close to 100%.

Man, I fuck things up constantly. I know for a fact that I blew what could have been a sure thing just last week. That's life. I accept it as my failure and move on to the next opportunity.

The "how do I pass this shit test" people are focused on specific outcomes. They're looking back instead of ahead.

I agree with you that the plethora of "how do I pass this test" questions are indicative of a problem.

It means they haven't read the sidebar, particularly, this:

http://illimitablemen.com/2014/12/14/the-shit-test-encyclopedia/

It's a shame we can't force people to read the sidebar.

[–]unassumingusername7 5 points6 points7 points 11 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

We need a sidebar quiz for posting privileges.

[–]imgonnabethegreatest 1 point2 points3 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I've been thinking this for a while. Even if you could just google the answers, you're still reading a little bit of important material and that'd be better than the idiots posting without reading anything.

"The problem is, if you really accepted the truth, then these things (shit tests or whatever) would not bother you. You would improve yourself mentally and physically and not worry about any one particular girl."

Yeah that seems to be the default answer among a few other default answers that don't seem to really fit. OK so yeah, don't worry about any one particular girl, but then that turns into 5, 10, 50 particular girls that you strike out with because you don't know how to navigate their maze of bullshit. So maybe just don't answer when people ask how to respond to something if that's always your answer. The guy may just want to learn something and gives two shits about the girl in question.

[–]TRP Vanguardnicethingyoucanthave 0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

just don't answer when people ask how to respond to something if that's always your answer

Well, if you look at the replies I've made in /r/asktrp you'll see I'm not telling guys to fuck off, or anything like that. I do indeed offer specific advice that (I hope) is helpful.

But I also remind them that it is and always will be a numbers game. Fixating on any failure and letting it bother you is never a good idea - that was my point above. If you've got the fundamentals down, but you still fucked up, then the best thing for you to do is get on to the next opportunity.

5, 10, 50 particular girls that you strike out with

If you notice a pattern, then that's a totally different thing, isn't it? I can't remember any posts about patterns. They're always of the form, "this specific girl said X, what should I say"

you don't know how to navigate their maze of bullshit

But here again, the solution to this is a fundamental principle, not specific advice for one girl.

I'm really glad you phrased it this way because it perfectly makes the point that I want to make. If you come to TRP and describe a particular girl's "maze of bullshit" and ask someone if you should take this path or that path, you're totally missing the point of TRP and you're wasting your own time.

Here's what you need to do: spin plates. This is also sometimes called, "having a lot of irons in the fire." Basically, it means that you need to be talking to a lot of girls simultaneously and just ignoring the ones that flake on you or otherwise don't work out.

You don't "navigate their bullshit." That's your solution.

[–]wtg2989 0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

OK but again, saying generic things to the effect of "stop trying to fuck this girl and go fuck other girls," or "spin plates" is useless info for someone who may not have all the fundamentals down and is trying to do just that. To which you and 4 dozen other responders would undoubtedly reply, "read the sidebar." Yeah sure, it has a lot of information with some specific examples, but that doesn't mean that you should know how to handle every situation that arises. They keep fucking up with this girl or that girl or nexting them because they ask a weird question in the form of a shit test then guess what? There are no "plates" to spin and they probably will repeat the same mistakes. The posts you read and respond to are about a specific girl because how the hell else could someone frame that question? "My army of whores say this or do this so how should I respond?" Of course it's about one specific girl, how could it not be? That doesn't mean oneitis or beating yourself up over failure, especially since many times the failure hasn't even occurred yet. The guy just wants to give himself the best chance every time and the only way to learn is to ask others what they would do in this situation or where things could have been done differently. But if you do believe it is just a numbers game then game is bullshit past simple things like be confident, dress well, approach. But on a daily basis there are people posting on here about how they go out 2 or 3 nights a week and get laid at least once per week. Assuming they are not lying, then there must be some better advice out there than just, "spin plates, bro." "Forget this one girl so you can go fuck up elsewhere, bro." I mean, if they were consistently getting affection from women I doubt they would even be on here asking for advice anyway so there must be a pattern.

[–]Suravira 5 points6 points7 points 11 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Depends I think, when people do it to hash out a situation it's helpful, like theoretical situations and situations where you blow out on FR, these should be discussed and are quite helpful.

I think there is an overload of people who aren't hitting the sidebar, and just posting.

[–]Deanb1307 0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Yes I should have added that in there, thanks

[–]DonBravera 2 points3 points4 points 11 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

As a child I read through the bible alot, at a older age, I did a full 360 and began questioning the bible, the problem was that I already knew the answers, I just wanted to find an answer that fit my agenda.

This is the same with TRP, after reading the sidebar and 100s of posts, anytime I have questions all I have to do Is search within and the answers are bright as the sun.

The rules of posting is that you read the sidebar, these people obviously haven't.

[–]imgonnabethegreatest 2 points3 points4 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

You did a 180*

Regardless, though, I agree. AskTRP has been flooded recently with people that haven't even glanced at the sidebar and are asking ridiculously stupid questions.

"I told a girl my partner count and she won't believe me"

What the fuck? Did you not even read the tl;dr of the fucking sidebar? Do you have autism? I understand that it's summer so there's going to be an influx of new members but god damn, at least look at the "sidebar for dummies" post.

[–]bigleeroy 1 point2 points3 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

A lot of there's posts talk about how there is no such thing as a unicorn and that a perfect woman doesn't exist, well no shit. Even me knowing how the world works and seeing this different light has still shown me how emotionally driven I am and even though I can't change that I can cognitively realize things that help. Women are the same way that's where game comes into effect. There are no rules but there are always constants and variables and a constant remains that we are creatures of instinct through and through and no matter how much we try we can not change that part of our hardwiring. We can not change our emotions but we can understand them and that is the main part of swallowing the pill for me because it's different for everyone.

Im new somewhat, and yes, its confusing. Anyone can just write a piece as if they are an authority. More quality control would be nice.

It's like people who are sick. They only want to ask certain questions and get answers whenever they're suffering from something and want to find out how to temporary relieve the problem than actually cure it. It's good to figure out how to relieve the problem but if you don't know how to prevent yourself from getting sick in the first place, you're doomed for many repeated failures. So before you ask typical questions which have been posted here literally a hundred times before; looking for a temporary answer, you should really just sit down for a weekend and read everything from the side bar then read every article that pertains to them, their situation and questions they have and read the comments down below to people who're answering them. That's trying to find a cure for your sickness, not some DayQuil relieve tablets that don't do shit.

This 'Red Pill' forum is literally like the tomb of King Tut when it comes to knowledge and wisdom. It's rich with details, field reports, stories, logical debates and the successes and failures of many individuals. I've felt like I had a pretty good understanding of the many Red Pill philosophies before somehow stumbling on here myself and this place has indeed sharpen and polished what I already knew and showed me what I also had to work on as well as new view points and ways to look at things that I've never considered before.

As Bruce Lee said “Emptiness the starting point. — In order to taste my cup of water you must first empty your cup. My friend, drop all your preconceived and fixed ideas and be neutral. Do you know why this cup is useful? Because it is empty.”

Leave your ego, worries, concerns and anger at the door. There is never a loss if you choose to make a lesson out of something, absorb what is useful and discard what's not. If your eyes are open, keep them open and if your eyes are still close...be patient. They will open.

The worst ones aren't the ones making posts asking clueless questions. The worst ones are the clueless "eager preacher" advice givers. They are taking sidebar elements out of context and firing them out in the comments section, or they're making theory posts that have nothing to do with a real life experiences they've had.

On another post, one commenter pointed out how it was a mistake for the OP to date a women who took a year off between high school and college. He assumed it meant she was a party girl who wanted to ride the CC. A gaggle of other commenters agreed. The OP made horrible choice after horrible choice with this woman (against his own instincts) and that was the "red flag" some of the commenters bumped on. How fucking stupid are these lemmings?

[–]Deanb1307 0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I agree another thing about these people is they come on and they make smart ass trolly comment to people who are genuinely looking for help. That shit is not RP

Exactly, there are no such thing as rules. A man should never follow anything but instead take everything in with an open mind and see the world for how it is from an outsiders perspective in every situation, do that and things will slowly fall into place.

[–]Deanb1307 -1 points0 points1 point 11 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link

If your LT partner is coming with you with a concern to why your relationship is going down hill, responding gay, is a pretty shitty thing. The fact that guys are coming on here asking us how to respond to their LTR questions, means they are missing the point of TRP and something is missing inside. you said its upon every man to find HIS correct answer. I couldnt agree more, thats what this post is about.

While I am no where near perfect, My capital usage was to emphasize points, thats why bold/italic text exists (I just dont know how to use it on here). And for you to say "Do not concern yourself about other men, and especially about their level of maturity or "goodness". Follow your own advice and tend your own garden." while I do agree, it seems pretty hypocritical in the scheme of things.

[–]CisWhiteMaelstrom 0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

A lot of people can't learn just from abstract concepts. Spitting all the theory in the world won't always help someone get a witty response. Sometimes, people need to see things in front of them clearly in order to piece it together with a pattern, with the help of a theoretical background. I doubt those people on asktrp are trying to remember each line perfectly. It seems more likely to me that they're adding data points to their set in order to draw a better pattern/inference out of a wider database.

Of course, some of them are just drawing a blank and there's nothing wrong with that.
