TL;DR “The Child is Father of the Man”. We are raising our future selves, 25 year old you is raising the 30 year old you will become. Be conscious of this and raise yourself to become the man you want to be.
Body One of the most empowering quotes that I have encountered is “The child is Father of the Man.” (William Wordsworth). At first glance the quote might not make any sense but in reality this is one of the greatest truths that we must digest if we are to become great men. In TRP we challenge people to become the best versions of themselves financially, physically, mentally, and sexually. We all come from different backgrounds and diverse upbringings; some more privileged than others. Meaning that some of us are further along in each arena of life. But guess what, who gives a shit. Where you are is important, but where you are headed is more important. You must only focus on those things within your control, and your childhood wasn’t one of them. Your adulthood is. Someone raised you at the beginning, and now you will raise yourself until your end.
You will not one day wake up and be a successful CEO, shredded and to a text from that HB9 that she wants to see you this weekend. That doesn’t happen overnight. That man raised himself, he put in the work all those years and developed himself to that degree. We see the end product but we don’t see the work. All the years of schooling, all those long nights working, all the effort he puts into lifting and living life. He is where he is because of who he was.
You will turn 80 years old, you will have sex, and you will have to make tough choices in your life. Those days will arrive at your doorstep and the more work you put into yourself now, the better you will be prepared to face them. You rather be weak and inexperienced or strong and wise? The choice is yours.
Raise yourself.
Lessons Learned
• You are who you are because of who you were.
• You will become what you do every day, so make sure you’re raising yourself right.
