It seems the shortage of "good men" is being felt, enough that this appeal has to be made for men to be masculine and step up to their responsibilities to protect and provide. Mention of men's happiness, fulfillment and interests is notable only for its absence. Masculinity is only "good" when it serves to benefit wider society, with scant regard for what it costs the individual man.

Once you read between the lines this PSA is quite revolting.

Too bad, real men don't marry the state. Marriage is dead and it's not our job to put the pieces back together again. Even if we wanted to, we're awake to how bad a deal it was to begin with. I honestly would not agree to anything less than what is going to be essentially a state sanctioned sex slave, who can be gotten rid of at any time for any reason. Essentially, the same raw deal given to men but in reverse (without the sex part).

The essence of her theory is a good one. Masculinity in men is good for men, good for women, good for families and good for society. Masculine men are leaders, builders and those who are responsible for getting everything done.

Responsible is a key word here. Responsibility is more of a masculine character trait and therefore men are generally tasked with most forms of responsibility in the world. However, just because responsibility is more masculine, doesn't mean women are incapable of it nor does it mean that men ought to be responsible for everything.

With regards to the specific issue(s) at hand, the problem begins and ends as a result of feminism. Feminism is female nature amplified and unrestrained. So when she speaks about the percentage of boys who grow up without a father and end up in jail within the context of a video encouraging masculinity and men taking responsibility - she's insinuating that men are the root of fatherlessness and that men ought to fix it. This is but one example of cringe from the video. There are more but I won't spend more time on that.

Truth is that the ball of responsibility is squarely in the court of women. Due to the many areas of law and public opinion that are grossly bias against men and in favor of women - there isn't much that men can do other than to disengage. Women and only women can fix this problem, whatever part of it can still be fixed.

Furthermore, every woman wants a leader for a husband. However, not many women are willing to really be followers. They want to be in charge when it suits them and they want the man to lead when it's too difficult/dirty/smelly/etc.

Traditional gender roles had the men as the generous givers and the women as the graceful receivers. Today thanks to feminism, many women are no longer receivers, they're takers

If they are so worried about "toxic masculinity" they need to tell women to stop having sex with men who exhibit "toxic masculine traits", but since the men who have most of these "toxic traits" are the Chads and Tyrones, I seriously doubt women would ever willingly stop fucking those guys, so "toxic masculinity" is here to stay.

Provided the link in case anyone wants to provide comments on that site deconstructing this video as we have done here. Conservatism needs a redpilled upgrade, and engage in some hard conversations about gynocentrism, if the goal of stable family formation is to become a realistic ideal for most members of society.

I understand that there is a strategic decision that might be made in some trad-con circles to promote marriage/family while treating women with a softer touch, in order to keep them in the fold. But what has happened is that the message of moral obligations for BOTH men and women, with some unique responsibilities falling on each sex, gets diluted, particularly in a post-feminist world. Posting comments in the comments section on sites like these helps work against the tendency to dilute these values, since the writers are often not up to the task themsleves.
